4+ years of building experience

proficiency in landscape contracting standards

proficiency using standard hand tools and power tools

proficiency in irrigation system construction, general carpentry and general masonry

organization and communication skills

valid CA driver's license

eco-artisans

A powerful apprenticeship opportunity in a strong emerging industry . . . Become an artisan builder on a leading edge landscape construction crew that specializes in ecological landscape designs and methods. Our projects include design and construction of CA native plant habitats, kitchen gardens and orchards, greywater recycling systems, rainwater catchment systems, dry set masonry (especially with broken concrete), water efficient irrigation and more. We specialize in recycling materials and developing social environments for folks to interact with their living environment. This is a manual labor job with intense creativity and unique projects.

fine garden steward

An ecological maintenance professional to manage predominantly CA native, drought tolerant and food productive gardens, with flexible scheduling and beautiful unique outdoor garden environments. We adhere to strict pollution free methods and exclude the use of noise, air, biological or chemical pollutants.

fine pruning of trees and woody shrubs

pest and disease identification

organic pest management

soil management

irrigation management / repair

general cleaning and weeding (manually, with a hoe, or flame weeder)

professional and friendly communication with coworkers and customers

regenerative design apprentice

Work closely with ryan serrano as his design apprentice, learning the ins and outs of regenerative systems design. help articulate the visioning and planning of many spaces and deepen your understanding of permaculture design, CA native plant ecological, irrigation modalities, soil ecology and more!

attend consultations and take notes

develop base maps in Autocad and sketchup

designing landscape plans

calculating material quantities and project costs

research and material sourcing

assistance with some miscellaneous administrative tasks

key requirements:

literacy in autocad and sketchup applications
